Five stars! What a great restaurant. The food and wine were delicious and the staff were fantastic. So many great gluten-free options, which we loved. We shared plates (because everything on the menu looked wonderful) and it was all so flavorful and delicious. (Including the desserts, try the coconut-lemon cake!) [The restaurant has beautiful decor and is in a good locational off the road as well.] Our waitress was so friendly and we met the owner as well who happily shared all of his wine expertise with us! Such a great stop on our road trip and a place we certainly plan on coming back to. :)

I live about half a mile away from this restaurant and now have visited there about five or six times since November 2014. Let's start with my experience last night. I chose to sit on the patio since it was a lovely warm breezy evening, and there were three or four other full tables. I was in the mood for spaghetti and meatballs, and it came with a salad and fresh warm crusty bread with real butter. The salad and the bread -- with really good bleu cheese dressing -- were excellent. I asked for a lemon WEDGE to squeeze in my glass of water and got a lemon SLICE -- not as easy to squeeze, but I overlooked that. So far I observed the waitress is not listening to me. My meal came, delivered by the new owner, and he didn't offer to refill my bread or bring any parmesan cheese or cracked pepper; my server did eventually show up when I was halfway finished and asked if I'd like parmesan cheese. Sure. Then I asked for more bread, which she delivered. And then she left. That's when the folks at the table next to me got out their cellphones and started playing video clips on their phones SO LOUD it was jarring to the peaceful quiet dinner ambience there on the patio. I thought one, maybe two LOUD VIDEO CLIPS and they'd be done, but it kept going and going for a good five minutes, one after another after another after another. I was really annoyed. There was no server in sight, so eventually I got up and asked the couple if they could please keep their videos to themselves, or put on headphones for viewing? Well, they didn't have headphones, they said and BESIDES, they're sitting OUTSIDE, where they can be rude and obliviously inconsiderate like this and it's not a problem. Right? And, Have A Nice Day. I sat back down, seriously considering asking my server to move me inside where it would be quieter, one would assume. There was no server in sight. That's when the woman made a phone call, calling her mom, giving her mom directions to meet them at the movie theater. She was on the phone for a good five minutes giving directions. Her server came out to help them, and *sniff* the *sniff* server *sniff* was *sniff* dealing *sniff* with *sniff* a *sniff* cold *sniff* apparently *sniff* and *sniff* was *sniff* apparently *sniff* unaware *sniff* that *sniff* there *sniff* was *sniff* this *sniff* thing *sniff* called *sniff* KLEENEX. NO, server, and NO, customer, Ringuette Street is NOT spelled "R-i-n-g-e-t-t." By this time I was just livid. The customers left. Their server (thankfully) left. I took videos of both their loud phone call -- "We Have An Important Phone Call To Make Here Tonight" -- and the annoying video playing. Then when my server came out to see if I wanted dessert, I told her I was quite upset and had to simmer down first. "Why?!!!" I showed her the videos, and we talked about that, and then the owner came out and I showed him the videos too. "Customers!" was their basic response. "I wish you would have said something!" he said. "I wish my server had been checking out here more often!" I said. They did have a lovely chocolate cake with lovely blackberry topping, all gluten free, and it was wonderful, and I'm seriously doubting I'll ever go back, which is a shame. *** Now, comments I have on the restaurant from the past: I had a great arugula salad with added chicken (or fish?) sometime in the last couple of months, also on the patio. That was lovely. I had a lovely conversation with the new owner that time. I've been disappointed in their salads in the wintertime. They apparently get in salads in a bag when fresh greens aren't available, and don't check the quality of the greens they serve. I had some very wilted pieces (wilted to the point of melting, ew) and the salad tasted dry. Not the best memory, for a meal of "soup and salad." This also happened, by the way, during the previous owner's ownership, so it may not be fair to write about that now that The Vine has a new owner. I agree with another reviewer that the servers should check in with the customers more often. Way more often. That would have alleviated my negative experience last night, and I would have brought up the "dry salad" and "ew, wilted and melted lettuce" issue early in the year when that happened. But, no server available...so what are you supposed to do? Go flag them down? They kind of just disappear. Somewhere. Dining at a restaurant: there's more to it than the food that's served. *** So, I don't know. Bottom line, the restaurant is close, they serve decent food, they don't pay much attention to the customers or the customers' dining experience, and here, you're on your own, baby. Like it or lump it. Fend for yourself. And, Have A Nice Day.

I found this little gem on the advice a sweet woman at the visitor center in Grants Pass and I was NOT disappointed. Every single thing was great here. I was greeted with a smile by the host, seated promptly, and offered a drink from the bar. My server was very friendly and attentive without hovering. Each of the patrons around our table was smiling and enjoying meals. My seat faced the kitchen, so I was in the unfortunate position of having to watch plate after plate of scrumptious looking food be taken to tables not mine. I swear I wanted a bite from every dish. Probably the best clam chowder I've ever had is served here. Super smooth, thick, and velvety texture, lots of clams and potatoes, just the way I like it. The main dish was lasagna, but it looked so good I tore into it before I could snap a picture. It was simply divine! Perfect amount of ricotta, sausage, and cheese. Omg! I'll probably never be in the town again, but I will relish this meal for a long time to come.

I've had nothing but great experiences here. The new owners are super nice & accommodating. Sounds to me like "Susan B" may need to consider eating & cooking at home. I think making a distinction between a slice & wedge is pretty petty. When most people are @ a restaurant with a book, they are looking to be left alone. If the table next to her was so noisy & disruptive why not ask to move - clearly she had enough time to if she had time to record them. If you don't give the owners an opportunity to take corrective action then you shouldn't be complaining or writing bad reviews based on your laziness. It is hard enough for small businesses to be successful in America, but social media bullying & bad review writing is passive aggressive, selfish & just plain inappropriate!

We love the Vine, & suggest that Susan B's issues are ones of personal preference run amuck. Lemon wedges vs slices? Really? Just the fact that she took SO much time to be detailed show whats wrong with HER, not the restaurant! Back to the facts:The new owners are diligent and passionate in their preparation, service, and food choices. They have taken the Vine's original buzz and expanded it greatly, and their wine tasting dinners are extraordinary to this area. The Mediterranean pasta is to die for, the eggplant parm is the best I've ever tasted, and their marinara home made to perfection. No one does it like the Vine, and Susan B is hereby outclassed.

We went there with a large-ish party, on prom night no less, and even then the service was expectedly a little slow but good nonetheless. Since we did have a large party I was able to sample lots of their options. I had a burger (I would blame that on being preggo, but honestly I really love a good burger). It was nice and tender but not very juicy and I do prefer more of the good BBQ sauce---if it's a burger it should be a little messy! I upgraded to the sweet potato fries and they came with a good marshmallow creme on the side. For once the kiddos wanted the "orange fries" instead of their own! Honey got the gluten free pepperoni pizza, and the kiddos got cheese pizza and grilled cheese. The kids pizza would have fed two kids easily, and we ended up taking quite a bit home. The rest of the party had the chicken fettuccini (noodles were a bit too al dente, but they fixed that no problem), beef medallions and salad. After seeing the rest of the party enjoy their food much more than I enjoyed mine I wished that I had chosen differently, and would go with a salad or steak option next time. The pizza crust was one of the better gluten-free ones that we've tried, though a little sparse on the pepperoni. So, with the rest of the party quite pleased with their choices we might go back again--the prices were a little on the spendy side, but then again, with as much as everyone else enjoyed their food it might be worth it. Good to know, though, they are VERY VERY good at allergan/gluten free dining, and I know one of my party will be going back specifically for the gluten-free fish and chips.

Lucky Find! We stumbled upon this restaurant amid a lot of fast food and mini mall restaurants. The food is great and worthy of a "nice dinner out". My husband had regular pasta and I had gluten free which I normally don't care for but can't have white pasta. Wonderful dish. Penne with a Parmesan sauce. Server was a doll. Helpful, quick and lovely personality. Highly recommend!

Always go to The Vine when in town visiting family. We've never been disappointed. The pasta is always cooked perfectly and taste amazing with home made sauces. The meat and chicken dishes are always on point. We try to try something different every time. The staff is always courteous, friendly and prompt. They can answer any questions you may have on any menu item. If you want good flavorful food with great service the Vine can't be beat.

Italian? Burgers? BBQ? Steaks? This place has an identity crisis and needs to ditch 2/3 if the menu and make the other 1/3 amazing. We had a cheese pizza where bubbles put half the cheese to one side, carbonara filled with to many under cooked red onions and a creme brulee that resembled a liquid pudding. While the food had some great flavors and potential it was hard to get past all the negatives and remember what they were.

I just dropped everything I was doing to write this review. As we just had dinner there at The Vine tonight, and I have to boost their stars immediately because our visit tonight ON POINT, they should be a credit union!...I had to say it. :) I sincerely do not understand why the low reviews...I know I know that's like a line way overused but yelpers, but wow....this was our first time here, and it will not be our last! Well...we might not be back for awhile cuz we live in a Portland...but you get the idea. The Italian decorations are comfy and well done, yes it's in a strip mall...but once you step in the front door all that is forgotten. Candles on every table, dim Italian lighting puts you in the mood for good things to come...ie good food. ;) So on to the food, it was fantastic. I went old school with ordering spaghetti and meatballs, same as husband with shrimp Alfredo. We did this for a good reason. If you can't get down good old Italian staples, then the more outlandish meals won't work whatsoever. And they nailed it with our meals. Next time we will fulfill our other Italian dishes of choice. Our server, Joy, was sweet as pie. She was so helpful and genuine, we couldn't have asked for a better server! Now....I don't want to be mean or curse on a small town, but it concerns me when franchise fast food joints get five stars and small family owned little restaurants get two...you don't see that in larger towns. I tried to put that lightly...:) and also funny how all the 1 and 2 star reviews were from people with no friends and none or few reviews...hmm...interesting... I just get really excited when I get to leave a review of a place they really deserves it. And this place one hundred percent did. Thanks Vine for giving my husband and I a wonderful date night!! Kudos!! :D

Dinner here today, Italian at its finest. This location is small but inviting and the food is wonderful. And how awesome that their entire menu, minus the lasagna, was gluten free. They even had gluten free dessert options. I was passing through town and so happy to have found this restaurant, highly recommended.

Ok, we went in to try The Vine since it has new owners now. The place was packed but we got a nice table. Sue was our waitress and was outstanding in every aspect. The food was delivered by a nice young man (determined later to be the New Owner). Both he and Sue checked on our overall satisfaction. I had my usual Chicken Parmagiana and it was even better than the last time I was there. My GF had lemon Basil Shrimp on a bed of linguini. She said it was outstanding. We'll be back..... Oh yeah, we used our YELP Special Coupon. Don't forget to get yours $25 value for $20.

My wife and I saw this place and were intrigued by the look and feel. The reviews almost made us not go but we are in a small town where fast food places receive 5 star reviews.... My wife and I show up for dinner and we were seated in a nice private area with perfect lighting and ambiance. Our waitress Joy, recommended a few options so we decided to order basics, spaghetti and meatballs for the Queen and fettuccine Alfredo for the King. I do have to say the quality of the sauces and flavors were awesome!!! The portions were perfect and the service was legendary. Along with our meal we had bread, salads and each had a glass of wine for a whopping total of $40!!! We were so happy with everything it really made for a romantic night. In my opinion, reviews with 1 friend and 1 review are not usually legit.

Showed up on a hot summer day. Didn't want to leave our dog in the car for obvious reasons. The waiter saw us coming and already knew what we were going to ask. They sat us outside and even brought a dish of water for the hound. Service was polite, prompt and efficient. Food was quite good. I had the steak with blue cheese sauce, wife had the shrimp. Both were tasty, the salad fresh, and the roasted potatoes and brussle sprouts were great. I'd eat here again for sure.

Love this place! We always have the best food! Not to mention the wine list ;-) plus, if you love chocolate then try the chocolate ganache! It is outstanding! The Oregon black burger- yum! Sweet potato fries with marshmallow sauce- double yum! Chicken carbonara- YUM! Keep up the great food!

My husband has celiac disease. It is really frustrating to find a truly (safe) gluten free place to eat. There is contamination everywhere we go. We are visiting Grants Pass and we googled a gluten free place last night but nothing came up. We found Pongsri's Thai which was great but wasn't advertized. We were literally wandering around going into places asking about their menu. Today at lunch, I remembered Yelp and did a search. A bunch of spots popped up. We went and tried The Vine. It was very well decorated. They had all kinds of great quality and delicious options!! So relieved to have a safe place to go out to eat in Grants Pass. They even had soy and dairy free! My mom can ?TRY THEM !! GREAT FOOD GLUTEN FREE OR NOT!

I love the gluten free onion rings. Even ones with gluten never tasted so good. I'm hooked. They also make sauces and dressings in house with local ingredients. Such a blessing to have in grants pass.

We stopped here for lunch and both my husband and I had wonderful food. They cooked my gluten free chicken florentine perfectly and if I wasn't in public I would have licked the ramekin with the lemon coconut mousse. Sweet wait staff and a quick yet well created lunch.

Amazing Mango Pineapple Chicken for my birthday dinner. Waitress Sue kept the water full and was very friendly and efficient.

Abysmal service to start. I was in town on business about a month ago. The Holiday Inn express had them recommended on their key card. I would never go here again. Here is the low down on this place. It's in a corner of a strip mall. I walked in the door and they seated me in a room that was off of the main area. I watched the servers constantly go to other peoples table. I ordered steak medium rare and it came out RARE. The potatoes were cold enough you couldn't stick a fork in them. The really bad part is I waited for almost half an hour before the server came back and tried to correct the meal. It was better after they corrected, but not much, and after waiting a lot of time. My drink ran out and I waited and waited and waited. I was so frustrated that I lost my desire to even think about dessert. I was tempted and asked for the Chocolate ganache; which they were out of. I quickly gave them my credit card instead of waiting for the check which might be another half an hour or more. It shouldn't take 2 hours to get a simple meal. Hint for the restaurant. Make sure the food that is being served is cooked properly. Check on your customer more often; not a half hour after your meal has been served. Make sure their drinks are filled. Keep your desserts stocked; especially your popular ones. Chocolate ganache was out.

I'm simply astonished that this place has any negative reviews. Service is leisurely but the results are soooo worth it and everyone who helped us was beyond friendly. We ordered the chicken piccata and marsala and they were both exquisite. The chicken was like butter - you could cut it easily with a fork. The sides were delicious (dinner salad was spinach with excellent balsamic vinaigrette, yummy and well-seasoned Yukon Gold Potatoes, and tender green beans). Entree portions were huge. I I'm sorry we live a half a state away, but will definitely be back here next year when we come through. (Someone made a snarky comment about it being in a strip mall, but it's at the very back corner and there's a lot of greenery around it. And they have some sidewalk seating with sweet little bowers of vines. It's really very attractive and you don't feel like you're in a strip mall. Plus parking is excellent!)

Excellent organic dishes! Been here a few times in the past and have watched it get steadily more busy. Wait staff is awesome. Prices are great too. Had slow-cooked prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes, green beans and tossed green salad and bread for $15! Thank you for demonstrating that organic fine-dining doesn't have to be outrageously priced like some others I've eaten at in my home of N. CA. This great restaurant is a much-needed addition to this largely corporate chain, garbage food town. Thank u!

The wait staff here is exceptionally nice, if a bit slow when you have a toddler in tow. However, the food is quite good. They have an extensive selection of gluten free options. The atmosphere is relaxed and the music isn't annoying. We keep it on our list of places to go when we have extra time to wait.

I have reviewed this establishment in the past but we went there for lunch today and I felt the need to update!! We have been going here for the last few years and we have never been disappointed! My hubs is gluten free and it's such a treat to be able to get great food in a place that obviously "gets" the GF lifestyle! There are so many choices!! Today's lunch was the Mediterranean with chicken as a lettuce wrap for him, while I had the half sandwich/soup combo with a Greek chicken salad and tomato bisque soup. Everything was fabulous, filling and delish! Our server was Mannie, who was quick and attentive. We finished off with the creme brulee, which was the perfect end to the great meal. I also want to note that we often order their gluten free pizzas to go and most often don't make it out of the parking lot before we have devoured them.. We love this place!!!

GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY! I can't believe the low ratings of this place! it's one of the best restaurants in Grants Pass in my opinion. But then again Mc Donalds has more stars in Grants Pass so it's safe to assume that the raters don't have good taste in restaurants. This place has amazing turkey burgers and pastas. I go here whenever I'm in town and NEVER had a bad experience. Try the cheese tortellini or the California Burger. The prices are reasonable. great ambiance and it's usually quiet during the afternoon. I think more people go there for dinner.

I honestly would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service was terrible (the restaurant was nowhere near busy at the time), and the food was not much better. This being one of the few "Italian" restaurants in Grants Pass, I was excited to try it. After eating what little was edible, I went home and made myself some food.

What a find! An excellent gluten free menu and adaptations for anything on the menu. The gluten free chocolate desserts were outstanding as was the fresh baked gluten free bread for my tuna melt. I am most surprised by the quality of the food and menu. We found this place driving up the west coast. I wish this was in Virginia where we live!

The Vine is one of my favorites! I have celiac disease and the gluten-free food is amazing! They are very careful and someone with food limitations can go to the vine and eat like a queen! Highly recommended!

We visit now and then mostly due to their gluten free options. Today, the wife and I visosted and ordered the halibut/swordfish/pasta special and a filet mignon. Service: June was exceptional, kind, attentive and quick to tend to our needs. Top notch in every respect. Food: The filet was ordered well done, and came wrapped in bacon with a balsamic sauce that was phenomenal! The steak was perfectly done, topped with mushrooms and incredible flavor! The green beans were fresh and perfectly done! My wife's seafood special was incredible and she specifically remarked about the halibut being juicy and tender. We are very satisfied with this restaurant, and highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who lives here or visits. You won't be disappointed!

Not impressed - at all. I ordered one of their salads - what came out was very amateurish and not tasty at all. I could have done far better. They need a far better chef I applaud their emphasis on organic, non-gmo, etc. but they need a far better execution and to give better value for the money.

I was reluctant to eat here based upon the reviews but we had a gift certificate. I was pleasantly surprised at the warm ambiance of a restaurant that is located in a strip mall. They have a new menu that is ambitious with the number of items including sea food. I had the eggplant parmigiana. I have not had better and I have eaten in the Italian section of San Francisco and the North End of Boston. The eggplant had a nice light breading that was lightly fried and finished in the oven. My wife had the steamer clams and they were very good. I had a nice Chianti classico wine with my meal. The service was good So I went back to the Yelp reviews to see what was missed in previous reviews. Then I noticed that most of the reviews were old. Some went back 3 years and the newest one was a year ago. That is a problem with review ratings. In a restaurant business reviews need to be current to adequately reflect the experience. I am looking forward to returning again soon to the Vine. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed .

How can one restaurant have such varying reviews? We went back last night to support the Yes on 92 campaign. The owner told us that he was donating a portion of all proceeds from dinner to the campaign. We had an incredible dinner. To start we had the fruit salsa with cinnamon wonton chips. Then followed with a crisp mixed green salad and honey mustard dressing and yummy french bread. We split a main course: pepper crusted steak with Gorgonzola cream sauce, roasted potatoes, and roasted green beans. For dessert my boyfriend had flourless chocolate cake and I had the lemon coconut cupcake with cream cheese icing. Every bite was awesome. The waitress was sweet and helpful....maybe not quite as awesome as the last time and she could have checked on us a little bit more, but that is a matter of preference....a delicate balance between too much and not enough. Anyway, we'll be going back, I'm sure. This place definitely deserves WAY better than some of the bad ratings.

Reluctant to try this place due to the large number of negative reviews. However, we were very pleased. A large group of us enjoyed our visit: we were seated quickly, wait staff was attentive, food was very good. Definately would go back and recommend.

Nice place for being located in a strip mall. We had mixed reviews on the food at our table. Some was delicious, others were a bit bland. I had the beef medallions with brown rice which was delicious. Calamari was a bit bland. Pasts a we're tasty and creative. Service was less that optimal. The wine recommendations with each meal were really good. I will try it again. The location was very convenient for us, within walking distance from where we were staying.

Me and my partner went there to eat tonight and it was great. I ordered the vine burger with the vegan patty and a side of quinoa and black beans. It was so good!! The service was great, our waitress was warm and friendly. Nice atmosphere with soft music. They have a great menus selection offering gluten free and vegan options. We are already planning our next trip back. If you are ever in the area, try The Vine, it's a nice casual place to have good, wholesome food made with (or seemed so) quality ingredients. I would recommended this place :)

Sad to see so many negative reviews...... Perhaps I've been lucky to hit up The Vine on their best days, where others have stopped by on their worst, or perhaps it's just because people in Grants Pass are angry all the time..... Where The Vine really shines is their attention to cross contamination and food sensitivities. Whether you're on a silly weight loss "paleo" or grain free diet, or if you have a legitimate food allergy (or 6), this is THE PLACE to go. My wife is severely allergic to all forms of gluten, dairy, eggs, poultry, almonds, kidney and green beans, or in other words: most food. No problem here, because the wait staff and owners are on top of it. Let them know what you need and it becomes their mission to make you happy (and leave without a swollen throat). It's been 8 months since I've eaten there, but then and every time previous I got a good meal for a reasonable price. I have spoken to the owners on several occasions and they are great people.

The vine was amazing. I am very sensitive to gluten so eating out doesn't usually go well. This place had the best gluten free menu I have ever seen and the food was incredible. The server was very busy but still provided excellent service. If you are a glutard in grants pass you have to go there.

I went back to the Vine in February.... They changed the entire menu! BRING BACK THE CALIFORNIA BURGER! All of my favorite dishes were gone, nothing was really a substitute. We went during lunch and the menu was literally a single page. use to be a small booklet of food so apparently they took out a TON of food. and now it's ALL gluten free, healthy, vegan and crap. C'mon give people variety about what they want to eat! that day i wanted a damn burger and they didn't even have a normal burger. I ordered the Wild Rogue burger and it was blah. My mom usually got some sort of yummy chicken plate but they didn't have it anymore either. I forgot what she ordered this time but she wasn't happy with their food either. Oh and the service was awful. I'm so sad, this place use to be amazing and now they changed the menu I think they've lost a lot of loyal customers. Change it back! or your business will suffer... After reading the most recent reviews about this place, it already has.

We have eaten there often but less as time goes on. My review is based upon The Vine at it's best. First the bad: The blonde waitress who leads tours to Italy. She does not know the meaning of "hospitality". The ever changing "chefs" whose quality varies substantially Their inability to email their customers their wine dinner menus. Their inability or paranoia around cooking beef rare. Now the best: The other waitresses-especially Heather. Their wine dinners. Their gluten free selections. Glen's energy and hospitality. Their wine list. Get it right: find a good chef and KEEP HIM OR HER...no matter what it costs. It will be worth it. "Rare" beef...let go of the paranoia around health inspections.

We ordered the chicken garlic pizza and unfortunately, the pizza dough was heavy and uncooked all the way through. Its consistency was that of silly putty. The waitress was embarrassed and took it back to reheat to see if it would rise......it didn't. Chefs had a quizzical look like nothing was wrong. Needless to say, we will never be back. Probably can't mess up a burger here but don't expect any high quality cuisine from this kitchen.

The atmosphere is very nice and the Chipotle Chicken soup was tasty (and spicy). The service was marginal and the chicken carbonara was pretty bland. Overall, a little unimpressive.

We have been to the Vine many times. The food is very good but the service tonight was terrible. The waitress brought us soda water by mistake and that was the first issue. She was terrible. Super slow and kept making mistakes. The place was not very busy so no excuses. The food was good so we didn't walk out. Not sure it was worth the wait.

Terrible service and food. ordered a burger, bacon was raw, bun fell apart after one bite it was uneatable. Waitress came by looked right at my burger said nothing, wouldn't even take the dirty dishes off our table which we had stacked up for her. The place was empty by the way. My wife's green beans were so undercooked it was like eating them raw. The waitress was condescending and rude, tried to make it seem like it was our fault for not bringing it to her attention, when I watched her look right at my burger turn and walk away without asking how our food was. We were then overcharged $30 and had to return to get our money back. Word of mouth is a bitch.

I checked this place out on my quest to find good Italian food in the area. Some family and friends recommended it so I decided to try it out. I was expecting something tacky since it was in a strip mall, but actually the inside was nicely decorated and certainly not what I expected. The menu had some good options and the food was pretty good (my fiancee had chicken carbonara and I had cheese raviolis). The sauces were good, but I'm pretty sure my raviolis were store bought and not made in house. My biggest complaint was that I came here later on a Saturday night (not too late and they weren't busy) but the service was incredibly slow. It took probably 15 minutes before someone took our order after being seated, the food took forever to arrive, and we never got refills (or asked even for them) on our drinks. Our waitress was nice enough and thankfully I can say that we did not have any problems with blood or any other bodily fluids making their way to our food dishes (unlike a previous, unfortunate reviewer). The jury is still out as to whether I will go back again or not...

Went with a group and many of us were not pleased with the food. The service was not great even tho there were not many in the restaurant. One member who had been here three times said he would never come back.

Went out to dinner with a local resident and their family. We were a group of 9 and arrived early and seated right away. We all ordered right away and some ordered wine with dinner. The dinners came within a reasonable time but overall was disappointing. Our entrees were very bland and tasted like reheated over, pre-cooked meals. The service was good, however. As the wife and I were guests in town, we did not feel like making an issue over the meal, as not to embarass our friends who live in this town. If asked again to go to this restaurant, I would decline.

The pizza was good. We appreciated the coupon through Treasure Chest. Yet, we ordered the creme brûlée too and it was horrible because it had no flavor and did not set up right.

The food was good, but the Christian music playing overhead was obnoxious and offensive to non Christians. I won't go there again because of it. They did have a nice selection of gluten free foods.

Very ambitious menu. Wide variety of choices. Don't miss Monday night. $12.95 Prime Rib dinner with soup or salad! Get there before 6 pm, and there is even a "Happy Hour" for inexpensive wine, beer, cocktails, and appetizers. They get a little carried away with the "decorations" in this restaurant. Less is more, folks. Too many trinkets make the place look cluttered, especially around the bar and dining area near the bar. But food is quite good and prices are attractive. Service can be a bit spotty at times, but they do check in on you. Overall, a pretty good dining experience that could be better with a little touch here and there.

I enjoy going to The Vine because of the extensive gluten free menu. Their apple curry chicken soup is amazing, which I think they only serve on Wednesdays. Their gluten free fish & chips are good too. They have 2 separate kitchens where they cook the gluten free food, so if you have celiac or are very sensitive to gluten the food is cooked separately. The inside is decorated in an Italian theme and there is a lot of seating. The couple times I ate dinner here they seemed short staffed because the service was a little slow.

I brought a child to the restaurant for a gluten free dessert. The door was unlocked so we walked in to be greeted by the owner whom let us know they were. Rather than a simple "Sorry we are closed", he listened to the child, and went back to the kitchen and brought her a special gluten free treat - and enough for me also!

The Vine has some great Italian cooking as well as some other cuisines on the menu. My favorite is the eggplant parmesan. The lasagna is also quite good. They have some vegetarian/vegan and non-gluten dishes on the menu if you're so inclined. Dishes are well presented. Service is a mixed bag. Depending on how crowded it is, you can be waiting a while. The staff are friendly, but sometimes hard to flag down. I have yet to experience any problems with food preparation some of the other reviewers have mentioned.

Traveling from LA to Portland, and I'm gluten-intolerant, so relatives who live nearby suggested The Vine. I was over the moon to have onion rings for the first time since I went gluten free, and I still can't believe their bread. It tastes like bread - not the cardboard replacement I'm used to having. I begged them to move to Southern California!! The owner came over a talked to us - he's very charming and knowledgeable. Everyone loved what they ordered. My teenage daughter even ate squash because it was seasoned perfectly. She's never eaten squash before. At our table, we had the scallops, fish and chips, an individual pizza, wild salmon with rasperry beurre blanc, pasta primavera, and the chicken carbonara. Deserts were amazing - my favorite was the flourless chocolate cake, but everyone oohed over the lavender cheesecake. Lavender often tastes like soap - this was just divine and delicate. I bought a loaf of their bread for the road, and I'm giving serious consideration to moving to this area - just for The Vine.

Wow! Not what I was expecting in Grants Pass. The decor looks like it belongs in Italy, the food seems like it belongs in Manhattan. It is truly delectable cuisine, and the full bar is a plus. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt.

This is the third and last time we'll eat at the Vine. They seem to have issues with simple food preparation. I decided to order a simple burger tonight, and was asked if I wanted it pink inside. When the burger arrived, it was raw inside. After 5 minutes, I was able to flag down the owner, who was very apologetic and rush ordered another burger for me. (He brought a complimentary appetizer of fried pickles and mozzarella sticks while I waited.) When my replacement burger arrived, it was overdone yet the cheese was not melted. I decided to grin and bear it until an ant crawled across my plate. The owner comped both our meals and offered a dessert or another meal, but I'm done. The owner was very nice and apologetic, but unfortunately, our other visits have also had issues with food temperature, orders mixed up, etc.

Extremely Disappointed! Chicken Breast Had Tiny Bones Left In It And They Seem To Use Frozen Ravioli And Not Fresh. We Were Offered A Complimentary Dessert For The Error. Nice Ambience...But, I Can Get Nice Ambience By Staying Home. This Is The Third And Last Time We Will Patronize This Restaurant!

Having many dietary restrictions, eating at a restaurant borders somewhere between adventure and torture (for me and the waitstaff). I was pleasantly surprised at how many gluten free options they had on the menu. When I settled on one pasta dish in particular I was also delighted to have our server express nothing but willingness to accommodate other food restrictions I have. While I was feeling pretty positive about the place through the order taking process I wasn't sure what to expect from the food. Having a brother who has years of experience cheffing in Italian restaurants I have tasted GREAT pasta! When our food arrived we were all thrilled with our meals. Our service was excellent; Joy did an outstanding job of making sure we felt like we were the center of her focus. This place far exceeded my expectations. I will definitely return to The Vine to enjoy a delicious meal with family and friends!

Being newly gluten free from Los Angeles, I have become very skeptical about resturants offering gluten free food as most of the ones in LA don't taste very good. I was shocked on stumbling upon this restuarant on a road trip and was the fullest and happiest I've been in a year eating out!! My date is not gluten free and thoroughly enjoyed his food selection as well. Many props to the owner who was actually at the resturant and checked on every table to see if they were enjoying there food. He's done an amazing job!

We stopped in Grants Pass for fuel and food, we were starving but didn't want fast food or waste money on a chain restaurant. We have a two year old and two teens so the place had to be kid friendly and not over-priced. After searchin on yahoo, we found The Vine. We had to drive a little further into the town (about 3 miles) but it was well worth the drive. Staff was extremely friendly, clean and well decorated place. The food was delicious and wasn't over-priced. We don't usually order dessert but we figured since the dinner was so good, the dessert had to be yummy. So we all ordered something different and it was all delicious. We would definately go there again if we ever pass through Grants Pass again.

Unfortunate. I had perused a take-out menu from this place and was looking forward to eating dinner here. We were greeted by a friendly waitress who, when eavesdropping on our nearest table, was fluent in Italian and had spent some time vacationing there (good sign). We both ordered our dinners and started with a really lovely soup (curry, apple, chicken). When our dinner arrived I tried one of my Coconut Lemon Shrimp and it was dark brown and not golden, so over-cooked that it was bitter and not pleasant at all. Our server came back to check on us and I pointed this out. She told us that this was how it came, and it was not overcooked (it was burnt, and not at all edible) she offered to bring me another item. At this point she reached down to get my plate and her index finger was dripping blood. Let me say that again, DRIPPING BLOOD. Not bleeding a little, not a little cut, but dripping. At this point the meal was over for me. I mentioned to her "You seem to be bleeding." she replied "Oh, yeah, I cut myself". Just like that, like it was customary for her to bleed all over the place while serving food. I asked to have the item removed from our check. She said she would get me another item. I told her I was just fine. She insisted, I told her (in my most polite tone) that I was quite alright (I really didn't want to eat ANYTHING from there) I excused myself from the table and stepped outside to check that she had not dripped blood on me. I came back in and discovered she had the kitchen re-make my dinner and boxed it up to-go. She opened the box for me, showed me that it was not burnt. Then I looked down to see blood on the table, about an inch across little smudge-puddle, right next to the box. I find myself horrified and a little faint thinking of it even now. I will not return.

What a nice surprise. Didn't expect to find Elegance in a place that serves breakfast. The restraunt was packed but we were greeted and seated quickly. Very nice Tuscany decor gives out great ambiance. The menu was diverse with something for every possible taste. Best of all the menue was reasonably priced. Anna had fish and chips that had a batter that made them exceptional. I had the sausage lasagna that was loaded with cheese. Truely delicious. On my return I'm going to have the blackberry ribs. The service was prompt and everyone made a point to smile and ensure we were having a great dining experience. We will make this a must stop on our way through Grants Pass in the future!

The Vine has lovely décor with colorfully painted Italian landscape murals. The tables are spaced comfortably apart, the staff was very attentive, and the food delivery was quick. The Buffalo Wings were superb according to the aficionado with us, my chicken club panini was terrific--all hot and melty inside and crunchy bread outside. The sweet potato fries were very good, although the marshmallow sauce isn't my favorite, maybe do a remoulade instead, but kudos for offering something new. The salmon fish and chips were excellent, with a very light breading on the salmon and it was cooked perfectly and not dry. We also had the tasty tortilla soup with just the right amount of spice and heat. We look forward to many meals here!
